******All anglers must abide by all State and Federal laws. Recreational fishing laws apply, no culling, no commercial license exceptions, no contact with other boats unless in case ​of emergency, rescue or being towed. Anglers must have their own Virginia Recreational Saltwater fishing license or be covered by a boat license.

******Registration — Must be completed online prior to Captains Meeting and is open to all anglers, whether fishing by boat, kayak or from land.

All anglers must register online and attend mandatory Captains meeting pay and be qualified for prizes. Captain’s meeting will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Long Bay ​Pointe Bait & Tackle, from 5:30-7:30pm, to pay main event entry fee, Calcutta’s, and get official tournament fish tags.

Tournament Format and entry info: The main event is a 2 fish combined heaviest weight category for red drum. There will also be single heaviest (1 fish) categories for red drum, ​speckled trout & flounder. You must enter the main event to enter any of the 1-fish categories, in the 1-fish category, you must enter the first level, to enter the second level. Payout ​based on number of team entries, 50% of main event proceeds shall be paid out to 1st-6th place. 90% of Calcutta entries shall be paid out to 1st through 4th place in each category. ​The remaining funds shall benefit the HALO non-profit organization.


















Red drum slot size limit:18-26” and 3 per person possession limit.

Speckled Trout: minimum size 14” and 5 per person possession limit, with only 1 over 24”

Flounder: minimum 17.5” and 4 per person possession limit.

MEASURING YOUR FISH: Must comply with IGFA Rules, tip of lower jaw (furthest point of snout/mouth) across centerline of the fish, to the tip of the tail, WITH TAIL ​COMPRESSED.

FISH TAGGING VERIFICATION PROCESS – You must secure your tags to the fish you wish to weigh in prior to weigh-in. Only tagged fish will be weighed. If you have entered the ​Speckled Trout or Flounder categories, you will have 1 additional tag provided for each category you are entered in.


RULES AND CRITICAL INFORMATION:

1.Fishing day – Saturday 9/28/2024, and lines in are from 5am to 5pm.

2.For each individual fish to qualify for tournament, you must have tournament fish tag secured to the fish.

3.Boundaries — All fish must be hooked within tournament boundaries which is Virginia Waters.

4.Weighing Fish — any fish weighed must be entered on the scorecard by the Tournament Weighmaster. If anyone wants to have a fish reweighed, it must be done while fish is still ​hanging. All fish that have been mutilated will be disqualified. Mutilation shall be defined as damage which would impair the fighting ability of the fish. The decision of the ​weighmaster will be final. Must be in line and acknowledged by weighmaster by 5:30pm each day to weigh-in. There will be one (1) official weigh station: Long Bay Pointe Bait & ​Tackle (109 W Great Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451).

5.Placements in the tournament will be determined by greatest weight in each category.

6.Tie Breaker – If two or more entries are of the same weight. The fish with the earliest weigh-in time will determine the winner.

7.Protests - must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director by 7:00 PM on Saturday night. Protests must be submitted in writing with a deposit of $100 which will be ​refunded if the protest is upheld. By virtue, or signing the entry form all participants agree to the final decision of the Tournament Director.

8.Cancellation Policy – unless tournament cancels due to inclement weather, the event is on and no refunds will be issued if a team withdraws for any reason.

9.Prize money – For the main event, checks will be made payable to the entrant or authorized agent of the winning team as designated on the official entry form.Checks will be ​mailed within 30 days of tournament event. Cash Calcutta’s shall be paid out in cash to winning teams.

10.Anglers -There is no limit to the number of eligible anglers per boat.

11.Forum selection/indemnification - All participants, owners of vessels and pro hoc owners of vessels, consent and agree that the federal and state courts for Virginia Beach, ​Virginia, shall serve as the sole venue for all litigation and disputes, including, but not limited to, Long Bay Pointe Bait & Tackle, Cobia Killer, Katlyn Cobia Classic, Katlyn’s HALO ​Project Non-Profit, and Timber K LLC., rulings, property damage, personal injury, and contract disputes arising out of a person or vessel's participation in the Katlyn Cobia Classic. ​If a participant does not secure the signature of the vessel's owner and / or pro hoc owner for this agreement, the participant(s) agrees to indemnify them against all claims brought ​by the owner and or pro hoc owners of the vessel(s). Any participant whose action causes Long Bay Pointe, Cobia Killer, Katlyn Cobia Classic, Katlyn’s HALO Project Non-Profit, and ​Timber K LLC., its officers, directors, sponsors, owners and employees, to occur legal expenses, shall indemnify, hold harmless and reimburse said persons or entities from such ​costs. The rules and release shall also be binding on my heirs, executors, administrator or assignees.

12.By registering to participate in the tournament, all persons consent to the use without payment or restrictions, of any photographs and his or her name in which the captain, crew ​and/or boat appear for any purposes whatsoever.

13.Winnings greater than $600 are your responsibility to report as income.

14.BY SIGNING THE ENTRY FORM AND PAYING THE ENTRY FEE, MY TEAM AND I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE HAVE READ THE RULES AND FORUM ​SELECTION/INDEMNIFICATION AND ARE BOUND BY THE SAME.

15.Disqualification: If at any point it is discovered that a team bent or broke any of the rules, or recreational fishing laws, with regards to minimum lengths and slot lengths, that ​team will be disqualified and ineligible to win any prizes. Tournament director and committee will have the final say for any situations that may arise and reserve the right to ​disqualify any team.
